The venue for the tearfund lunch had to be changed at very short notice. It will be held at the home of Pat & Brian Winsley, Paddocks End, West Street.

As a rule, the family (united) service in Childrey, when held at the Methodist chapel, is always 11am. It is 10am when at St Mary's. This month the 5th (like last month the 1st) the service time in the Childrey Ridgeway box says 10 am, whiolst the Methodist list is 11am.

The Post Office first came to Childrey in the 1860’s. It has occupied at least 3 premises, firstly where the shop now is, then where Penn House was, then at ‘The Old Post Office’ by the Village Green and finally it came back to the shop's current location in 1972 before being closed in 2008.

We are lucky to still have the traditional village shop that provides a wide range of services for locals and visitors alike.

Services include: newspapers (orders can be placed for papers and magazines), dry cleaning, wines and spirits, groceries, fruit and vegetables, dairy products, ice cream and confectionery, stamps, Shepherd's fresh bread and cakes, pies, sandwiches and hot and cold drinks. Barbara and Keith are always happy to deliver to their less mobile and elderly customers.
