The Post Office first came to Childrey in the 1860’s. It has occupied at least 3 premises, firstly where the shop now is, then where Penn House was, then at ‘The Old Post Office’ by the Village Green and finally it came back to the shop's current location in 1972 before being closed in 2008.

We are lucky to still have the traditional village shop that provides a wide range of services for inhabitants and visitors alike.

Services include: newsagents, dry cleaning, off-licence, fresh bread, pies, sandwiches, hot and cold drinks. The shop now enjoys air conditioning and Steve can be seen making deliveries to the less mobile and elderly customers.
