The venue for the tearfund lunch had to be changed at very short notice. It will be held at the home of Pat & Brian Winsley, Paddocks End, West Street.

As a rule, the family (united) service in Childrey, when held at the Methodist chapel, is always 11am. It is 10am when at St Mary's. This month the 5th (like last month the 1st) the service time in the Childrey Ridgeway box says 10 am, whiolst the Methodist list is 11am.

Childrey & Sparsholt Women’s Institute was re-formed in 2000 and the membership currently stands at 21. They meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm in Childrey Village Hall and enjoy a varied programme of speakers. During the year they also run Bingo and Whist Drives on the fourth Fridays to raise funds for local charities. Members also take part in craft sessions, scrabble evenings, area meetings and go on a variety of outings, in fact it is a very sociable organisation with an ethos of helping others.

 

Please note that due to adverse weather conditions, this Whist drive (to be held on 28th January) and Bingo  (to be held on 25th February) have been cancelled. We would like to thank all supporters and look forward to seeing you when the weather improves in the Spring.
