Childrey & District Tuesday Club is a club for the over 60s. They meet on the first Tuesday of each month in Childrey Village Hall and members start arriving soon after 2pm and meetings start at 2.30pm with approximately 10 minutes of business and notices. After this they have a variety of speakers, sometimes accompanied by slides, occasionally a musical performance and from time to time a quiz or even Bingo! This is followed by tea/coffee and biscuits, raffles and the chance to catch up on all the news, etc., and the meetings close between 4 and 4.15pm.
During the summer months June/September, instead of meeting in the hall they have coach trips and in November a Christmas shopping expedition is organised. In December they also enjoy a Christmas lunch at a local hostelry. The club is very popular due to the friendliness of its members who live not only in Childrey, but in all the local villages, the Challows, the Letcombes, Kingston Lisle, Sparsholt, Wantage, Charlton and Grove and a warm welcome awaits all prospective members.
